Physical Education

Playing sports requires not only physical skill but personal virtue, both physical and moral. At The Lyceum, sports are treated as an analogy of The Christian Life. Our physical education curriculum is based on the notion that Man has a body as well as a soul. We hold to the notion that one should be "anima sana in corpore sano," that is, "a sound mind in a sound body."

Fencing

Lyceum students participate in fencing, or as they like to say at the Alcazar Fencing Club, "physical chess at lightning speed". The Alcazar, just around the corner from The Lyceum, is the oldest fencing club in Cleveland, and has produced three Olympians.
